We are excited to announce that Chattanooga Red Wolves Academy and Knoxville Reds Football Club are taking our partnership to the next level. We have expanded the partnership and are excited about this joint venture between the two organizations. This means that players will have the opportunity to train and play together on a more consistent bases across various teams and age groups. The joint venture has benefits for both clubs and their boys and girl’s players

Is the set up different for boys and girls?

Yes. Showcase teams and merged teams will apply to the girl’s players/teams from both Knoxville and Chattanooga. The Knoxville Reds boy’s players will have the opportunity, if so desired, to play as a “Designated Player” or permanently rostered player on a Chattanooga Red Wolves ECNL team (a player evaluation would be required). There will also be opportunities for U11-U12 boys in the form of showcase teams if directors believe this is appropriate.

Each market will work these options differently, so please contact your director for this information. Knoxville – Derrick Long, Chattanooga – Luke Winter.

Chattanooga will have teams available for female players in the 2005, 2004, 2003 age groups. However, if a player is interested in training in Chattanooga but playing for the Knoxville Reds on weekends, they should attend Knoxville Reds tryouts (at least once) to determine selection.

How will training work if I make a team which is based in Knoxville?

The Red Wolves Academy curriculum will be built to ensure it is possible to train in your own market. However, we would encourage 1 training session per week with your Knoxville Reds team.

Why are the Academies only merging the high school age groups for girls?

This is a more critical time for players to begin to challenge themselves and find situations to be noticed for the collegiate or professional options. U14 and below ages are based more on development.

We care deeply about our players and do not believe that it is necessary at U14 and below to commit to high amounts of time travelling from city to city. This is a player centered club and we do not want players and their families travelling long distances, multiple times per week, until it is absolutely needed.

What is the mission behind this joint venture?

Our mission is to access higher level opportunities for players in both markets and to create a regional based academy. Our staff is dedicated to creating better access for players, improving the pathways available, and ensuring that each player can reach their potential. All this while maintaining the care for our players’ overall well-being.
